Natalie Vaughn, M.D.
Dr. Natalie Vaughn is a hand to shoulder orthopedic specialist. She was born and raised in Riner, Virginia. She attended the University of Virginia, where she obtained an undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering and graduated with Highest Distinction. At the University of Virginia School of Medicine, she discovered her passion with helping patients return to the activities they love, and she made the decision to pursue a career in orthopedic surgery. She underwent residency training in Hershey, Pennsylvania at the Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. Upon finishing her residency, Dr. Vaughn wished to expand her training in hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder surgery. In fellowship at Wake Forest Health, she learned advanced techniques in upper extremity care, including management of complex trauma including fractures and tendon injuries, vascular injuries, arthritis, tendinopathies, congenital deformities, and nerve injuries. She also focused on specialty procedures using microsurgical techniques as well as arthroscopy of the wrist, shoulder, and elbow. She will use this advanced training to provide powerful solutions to resolve hand and upper extremity problems. Additionally, Dr. Vaughn is dedicated to using proven, comprehensive treatment plans to help her patients manage their pain, overcome their injuries, regain their function and strength, and return to the lifestyles they love.
Dr. Vaughn was happy to come back to the mountains and feels right at home in the Tri-Cities. She loves the kind and welcoming nature of the people living in this area. When Dr. Vaughn is not practicing medicine, she spends her time with her husband Matthew and their two dogs. She enjoys trying new restaurants, disc golfing, hiking, and watching Ravens football and UVA basketball.
