Dr. Alexander Rothy is an expert joint replacement specialist who is fellowship-trained in hip and knee replacement and musculoskeletal oncology. With his years of experience, Dr. Rothy understands the importance of getting every patient back to doing what they love quickly and safely. 

He offers advanced treatments and techniques so his patients can reach their goals and fully live their daily lives. With focused training in computer navigation, Dr. Rothy performs robotic knee replacement and hip replacement surgeries. He also has expertise in direct anterior and posterior total hip replacement, total knee replacement, revision hip and knee replacement, hemiarthroplasty, and extensor mechanism reconstruction (repair of the structure that surrounds and helps stabilize the knee).

Dr. Rothy graduated from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, completing his Bachelor of Science degree in neuroscience and biology. He then earned both his Master of Science degree in applied anatomy and his Doctor of Medicine degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Rothy went to Washington, D.C., for his residency at George Washington University School of Medicine. He then completed a musculoskeletal oncology fellowship at University of Miami/Jackson Health System in Florida. He completed the Joseph M. Abell Arthroplasty & Value-Based Health Care Delivery Adult Reconstruction Fellowship at The University of Texas at Austin, Dell Medical School.

When he is not seeing patients, he enjoys spending time with his wife Megan and their three dogs. They enjoy camping, hiking, and playing tennis. When the weather doesn't cooperate, he can be found in his woodworking shop in the garage making cutting boards or furniture for friends and family.
