Gabriel Hommel, M.D.
A native of the Tri-Cities, Dr. Gabriel Hommel received his undergraduate degree from East Tennessee State University and his medical degree from East Tennessee State University Quillen College of Medicine. His postgraduate medical training consisted of an internship and residency in orthopedic surgery at Louisiana State University Health Shreveport. Following his residency, Dr. Hommel completed a fellowship in sports medicine at the Hughston Clinic in Columbus, Georgia, under the direction of Dr. Champ L Baker, Jr.
Dr. Hommel’s published work in orthopedic journals includes “A Quantitative Analysis of Tension Band Plating of the Femur Diaphysis” and “Normal Anatomy and Biomechanics of the Knee.”
Dr. Hommel is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine. Dr. Hommel has extensive experience in arthroscopic surgery, sports medicine, joint replacement, orthopedic trauma, and general orthopedics.
Dr. Hommel resides in Bristol, Tennessee, with his wife, Jessica, and their two children.
