Dr. Avery Thomson to Join Appalachian Orthopedics

Avery Thomson, D.P.M., an expertly trained podiatrist, is joining the team of specialists at Appalachian Orthopedics. Starting Aug. 18, Dr. Thomson will be available to see patients at the practice’s Abingdon office, located at 16000 Johnston Memorial Drive, Suite 100. Patients in need of specialized foot and ankle care are encouraged to schedule an appointment by calling 276-477-1443 for their Abingdon office.

Using his expert training, Dr. Thomson specializes in evaluating, diagnosing and treating injuries and conditions of the foot and ankle. His expertise includes a broad range of advanced nonsurgical and surgical procedures, and he specializes in the following:

Dr. Thomson received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from Temple School of Podiatric Medicine and completed his residency training in foot and ankle surgery at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, Penn Medicine's Level 1 Trauma Center in Philadelphia.
